A celebration for slow-paced living, April’s Magical World introduces us to a joyful childhood filled with play in nature, a free and wild imagination, and interconnectedness to all living beings.
This is a beautiful story about friendship, kindness, inclusion, care and love, dedicated to children from 4 to 8 years old.
This story encourages all of us to approach life with a slow-paced rhythm, from where we can appreciate and enjoy life while being conscious of all that surrounds us.
This is a story that offers the perspective of a 5-year-old who feels free to love both her mother and her father and who has learned that she is loved and accepted despite her parents’ divorce.
Kizzy Petit is a children’s books author whose passion for writing has been her preferred way to express herself since a very young age. She has a journalism background and teaching experience, and once she became a mother, she shifted her perception of life. Now, her daughter is her inspiration for writing fun rhyming stories about the wonders of a slow-paced childhood, in tune with nature and imagination. On her journey as a mindful and slow parenting advocate, Kizzy Petit has learned that young children learn best through their senses and their experiences with art, stories, movement, and nature, when they are unperturbed by time and when they engage their head, heart, and hands in harmony.
Stories of an Unhurried Childhood are a series of picture books for children aged 4 to 8 years old, although slightly younger or older ones could enjoy them as well.
These children's books promote a slow-paced living approach, which is more and more important to embrace, as children are being bombarded with technological devices, and growing disconnected from their own imagination.
Since becoming a mum, Kizzy Petit has connected with her Calling and her purpose in this life which is to be a positive game changer and to inspire other women about what is possible for them: anything that their Soul desires!
She uses her powerful voice to be true to her core values and beliefs. This led her to be an advocate of mindful parenting and to choose an alternative path of education for her daughter, Abril.
This world needs a new generation of critical thinkers who can ask questions and see beyond the surface. Kizzy Petit understands that this process starts at home, with the parents themselves.
The first three books of the series speak about the blessings of a slow-paced childhood, where just BEING in the present moment is a lesson that children can teach their parents. Moments such as stopping on the way to school to pick up a stone that looks like a dinosaur egg; or feeling free and safe to play outside; exploring, discovering, learning at every step of the journey; feeling loved and accepted when speaking about imaginary friends; making mistakes without being punished; making art or songs; playing to the end of the day and appreciating nature. These are just some of the things that make a child’s heart sing with happiness.
The book “I am their Bridge”, offers the little girl’s perspective on her parent’s divorce as she acts as a bridge between them, teaching them about themselves and feeling love for both of them despite their differences. She has two homes, and that’s ok, because all that matters is feeling a deep connection of love and trust.
