I love curiosity! I have been asked these 6 questions and have answered them here, for you to learn more about my writing journey:
1. Where did you get the idea for your book April's Magical World and her joy for living slow?
I was inspired by my daughter and the way she sees the world as a child with a grand imagination. I wanted to write from her perspective of a magical childhood, filled with play in nature and imaginary friends, to encourage a slow-paced childhood in tune with nature.
2. How do you get inspired to write?
I get inspired by connecting with what I feel gets to be changed in our current world to co-create healthier, happier childhoods, as our children are being bombarded with technological devices since a very young age and are growing disconnected from their imagination. I would love to inspire parents, carers and teachers to support children to thrive with outdoor activities and undisturbed play, allowing them to engage their heads, hands and hearts.
3. What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on the promotion of my first book of the series "Stories of an Unhurried Childhood", called April's Magical World and her joy for living slow. Since I am an independent author, I am in charge of all the marketing, sales and distribution of my book as well. I am fortunate to have a Master in Marketing, because I can do this by myself. However, I acknowledge it is an intense work that I get to share with other important activities that I do daily.
4. What's your advice for aspiring writers?
My advice is to not feel discouraged by the many challenges that we encounter along the way, or to not take personal the negative answers we get from different angles during the process. There is always a way, an open door, for you to publish your book. You just get to keep going and never give up! Remember your Big Why!
5. What's the best thing about being a writer?
The best thing about being a writer is letting your soul guide you and work for you. I literally feel that all my creativity comes from a higher, divine place. And I write about what inspires me, to inspire others.
6. How do you deal with writer's block?
Since I experience different exciting and some other challenging adventures, I feel that I have always something to write about. I think it's the ability to seeing beyond the surface what allows me to have ideas for writing, and then following them. Also, I don't push myself to write about anything in particular. I just let myself write about what's been going through my head.
