Welcome, new friends!

2022 was  such a wonderful year, with lots of exciting adventures and valuable lessons

as an independent author of children’s books.

Hence, I thought this would be a good time to re-introduce myself, as I am delighted to connect with more wonderful people and opportunities through my creative work:

• I am Kizzy Petit, a Latina who eight years ago, traded the Caribbean sun, the sandy beaches and the academic life as a University teacher in Marketing and Spanish Language in her home country Venezuela (sunk by the Communist dictatorship that has been ruling for the past 23 years), for the calmness, the loving sounds of nocturnal animals outside her window and the outstanding beauty of the bluebells in the spring, the happy vibes that come with the sun in the summer, the golden leaves of the autumn, and the sliding fun in the snowy forest of the English countryside.

• I have been a single parent for the last five years, and since then, I have experienced the most powerful and transformational journey of my life as a conscious being. (Read here my latest post about the 11 Spiritual Lessons I have learned from raising my child after divorce)

• Spanish is my mother tongue, and we speak it at home, from morning to night.

• English is the language in which I put my ideas out into the world. I do not need to think twice or to translate. I just write in English.

• After I became a mum, I connected with my purpose and shifted my perception in life. To follow this calling, I became a Doula and a slow-parenting advocate.

• I have written a series of four children’s books called Stories of an Unhurried Childhood, that encourages children to play in nature, and have independently published the first one, “April’s Magical World and her joy for living slow”, which is now being proudly sold by two of the major retailers in the UK: Waterstones and Blackwell’s.

• My children's books are an absolute dream come true for me! In order to achieve it, I got to believe in myself and in my power to create beyond my comprehension. That’s how, I ran a successful Kickstarter project and raised £5,000 in 30 days, in 2020, during the second lockdown, whilst being a full-time mum, so that I could get the funds to cover the costs of the illustrations of the four story books. That’s called intention and commitment to my Big Why! Why? Because I truly believe that love is not enough to raise emotionally healthy adults. We get to be mindfully present on our children’s lives and to be willing to evolve with them at every stage of their development, without trying to push them to grow beforehand.

• I have learned through my daughter to use my voice, to stand up for my Truth and to be in alignment with my Soul’s desires.

• I am a doer, an achiever, a goal-seeker (a Generator, according to the Human Design).

• I never give up. I can rearrange, rethink and change my approach, but I persist on my goals no matter the circumstances.

• I am entirely in charge of all of these departments: content creation, social media, marketing, promotion & sales, distribution, package & postage, admin, website managing, plus: respectful parenting, cooking, tiding-up, school runs, and many other roles.   

• At the moment, I am also performing as a Spanish teacher and a Nanny in my local village, because I love teaching and being a trustworthy support for families with small children, that later become my friends and extended families. These are two activities that keep me connected to my passion!

• I secretly admire mums of multiple children who are also emotionally present for them… whilst looking after themselves on an emotional and spiritual level! These women are my personal heroes!

• I enjoy making new meaningful connections and honest friendships (at this age, I’m already tired of engaging in superficial conversations).

• I love celebrating life with music, dance, laughter, wine, and good food with great company.

• And I also love my Me-Time, where I replenish my energies and reconnect with my Self again.

This is the reloaded version of me!

I am so very grateful for every decision that I have taken that has brought me to this point of life!

And I am curious about what life will bring to me in 2023.
